Supetar, Brac

Day 1

In order to get to Brac, we had to take two ferries. We spent most of our time watching How I Met Your Mother or in Con's case by sleeping.  We arrived in Brac by 12:30 p.m. You know that time when the sun is blazing directly above you.

From there, we hiked up to our hostel. And we got lost again and again. This walk was truly our moment of stupidity. We had no map. And not even turning on the data on my phone  helped us. Street signs in Croatia seem nonexistent (and pretty much are!) until you know where to look for them. Let me tell you... It was hot! And wandering aimlessly while carrying your backpack uphill in the heat isn't fun.

Finally, we started asking people how to get there and eventually our sweaty selves arrived at the right place.

And the worst part....when we arrived, the head lady asked us why we hadn't emailed her our arrival time so she could've picked us up! My bad. Con forgave me after he took a shower. We headed straight to lunch then the beach and all was well.

Sorry for the lack of pictures during this day. We passed out at the beach. Got somewhat sunburned which has turned into a beautiful tan for Connor and this weird, uncomfortable skin rash for me.

To sum up this day...
Lunch was great! Dinner wasn't. We found this awesome smoothie place in between meals for some cheap, fresh fruit smoothies. Slept like babies.

Day 2

Quite a lovely day. Woke up late and got some breakfast. Walked through the town center. Then we rode the WATER SLIDES! We bought 5 rides, and guy gave us an extra token so we could each go 3 times. Yay! Such children! We enjoyed those slides way too much!  Can't you just tell that we were both Camp Ozark counselors once upon a time haha There was a Wibit (a water obstacle course) across from the water slides and we seriously considered buying 30 minutes each of play. Con really wanted to "blob" me, but I told him it wouldn't live up to the Ozark blob. So I guess we'll just have to go find a time to blob at Ozark instead!

After sliding, we decided it was time for a yummy smoothie. Then time to swim in the crystal clear water!

From 5-6pm, we treated ourselves to the gift of relaxation...an hour couple's beach massage! Only $40/person and it was SO worth it!

Went back and freshened up for a yummy dinner at Konoba Lukin. We indulged in far too much homemade bread and delicious olive oil. We could drink this olive oil. The highlight was the baked shrimp in a a chili and garlic butter sauce! Yummm

During dinner, we kept seeing people in Croatia jerseys walk by. And we kept thinking, "Maybe there's a game tonight?" (We thought it was tomorrow.) After seeing enough people, we definitely knew there was a game tonight. So our next thought was "Oh no, the game starts at midnight!" We have gotten use to the schedule of World Cup games starting at 6 pm9 pm, or 12 am. So we asked our waiter and for some reason Croatia played at 10 pm. Score for us!

After our ice cream cones, we found a local bar and ordered two "pivos" beers. Next thing we know, we're being handed soccer ball shaped whistles and blow up noise makers. We people around us liked us a lot...probably too much. They asked to take quite a few pictures of us and sometimes they didn't even ask haha. And one guy even bought us a beer.

We got 70 minutes of great play. 0-0! And Croatia controlled the ba most of the time. But they kept choking near the goal.

But then, all hell broke loose. Once Mexico scored, these people got mad. The guy next to us almost threw his beer glass against the wall. Once Mexico scored again, they got extra mad. Starting lighting their flares right outside the bar next to the water...kinda scary. And then Mexico scored a third time, they got really embarrassed. Thankfully, Croatia scored to lighten the mood...a tad.

We quickly said our goodbyes and quickly walked back to our hostel. Con says I walk fast when I get stressed/scared, and let me tell you... I was walking a bit fast that night. We made it back safe and sound. Quite the experience!!

What a view!!
I guess we're just adults that act like children:) these water slides were really fun!!
